La collana I carteggi di Metastasio. Testi e studi si propone di ospitare edizioni commentate e studi dedicati all’epistolario di Pietro Metastasio, opera di grande valore letterario che costituisce una delle più importanti testimonianze della vita culturale e artistica del Settecento.
Metastasio fu per più di cinquant’anni poeta cesareo presso la corte di Vienna, e la sua corrispondenza con i più illustri musicisti, cantanti, letterati e diplomatici del tempo offre ai lettori un osservatorio privilegiato sul diciottesimo secolo, e agli studiosi una molteplicità di spunti di approfondimento e indagine. Per queste ragioni è in corso di realizzazione una nuova edizione commentata in formato digitale delle lettere metastasiane, promossa nell’ambito del progetto M.E.T.A., guidato dal DIRAAS dell’Università di Genova con la collaborazione di studiosi di vari atenei italiani ed europei. La collana costituisce il naturale sbocco editoriale dei lavori del gruppo di ricerca, con l’obiettivo di divulgarne i risultati e permettere una più puntuale analisi delle diverse questioni storico-letterarie sollevate dai carteggi che compongono l’epistolario.
The book series I carteggi di Metastasio. Testi e studi aims to host commented editions and studies dedicated to the correspondence of Pietro Metastasio, a work of great literary value which stands as one of the most important testimonies of the cultural and artistic life of the Eighteenth century.
Metastasio was for more than fifty years the Cesarean poet at the court of Vienna, and his correspondence with the most illustrious musicians, singers, men of letters and diplomats of his time offers readers a privileged observatory of the eighteenth century, and a multiplicity of insights and investigation for scholars. For these reasons, a new commented edition of the Metastasian letters in digital format is being produced, promoted within the M.E.T.A. project, led by DIRAAS of the University of Genoa with the collaboration of scholars from various Italian and European universities. The series is the natural editorial outlet for the work by the research group, with the aim of disseminating the results and allowing a more precise analysis of the various historical-literary issues raised by the correspondence that make up the epistolary.
